About JC
I’m JC Alegre, a piano technician with more than 45 years of experience in music.
My relationship with the piano began when I was eight years old, when I started studying classical piano at the National Conservatory of Music in Perú. Over the years, my musical training expanded beyond classical music into other genres, giving me a broad understanding of tone, musical expression, and the qualities that make an instrument enjoyable to play.
That musical background continues to inform the way I approach piano service today. I don't simply look at a piano as a collection of mechanical components. I understand it as a musical instrument, and I consider how its condition, touch, and tonal character come together to support the way you play.
I received specialized training from a master piano technician in the Washington, DC area, developing the technical skills necessary to service upright, baby grand, and grand pianos with precision and care.
Today, I serve individual piano owners throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and the Maryland suburbs. I also work with music academies, churches, schools, and other organizations that depend on their pianos for music and performance.
I am an active member of the Piano Technicians Guild, and I offer discounts to active-duty military members.
